40’s Dance Night

The 40’s dance night was a great success and raised £202.50 pence. Twenty six pounds from the raffle held on the night was donated to the British Legion.



Christmas Craft Fair

Many local people went to the annual Christmas Craft fair and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and a chance to shop for that unusual hand crafted Christmas gift. As well as tea and coffee there were delicious bacon butties which are always a treat but especially so given the harsh weather.





Reading Room Dates for Your Diary 2011

Film Club

Friday January 21st, February 18th and March 25th.

Films are suitable for family entertainment. Entry is very reasonable £3.00 or £2.00 for concessions. Refreshments available include; soft and alcoholic drinks (beer and wine), sweets, pop corn and choc ices.



Raffle

The Reading Room Committee (RRC) is holding a raffle to raise funds for installing; first insulation and new heating and hot water systems. As part of the effort to reduce heat loss, RRC hope to replace the windows on the east side of the building with new wood framed double glazed windows. The proceeds of the raffle will help towards this part of the total project.

The first prize is a single (0.25 carat) diamond on a platinum chain and other desirable prizes are being donated. Tickets (£1 each) will be available very soon from RRC members. The raffle is to be drawn at a special cheese and wine event on March 4th at 7pm in the Reading Room.



Ceilidh

A date is being arranged for the popular ceilidh band of Judy Milne to play in the Reading Room for a night of great music and fun.



Murder Mystery Evening

All would be detectives keep March 19th free for this evening. Tickets will be available soon so book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets sales will also give the committee an idea of numbers for catering for the supper.



Village Quiz

These quizzes are a great night out for all the family and good value at £5 per person to include supper of pies and peas. The next quiz is planned for April 8th
