Reading Room Notes - 28 June 2011

OVINGHAM GOOSE FAIR
The rain failed to douse the spirits of those who turned out to the annual Goose Fair. Although there were some cancellations by stallholders and entertainers, the hardy followers of the fair turned up and gave their support. Ironically the rain was at its worst as the weather lady from Look North, Hannah Bayman was proclaiming the Goose Fair open! Ponchos and umbrellas were the fashion of the day. Many of the organisers went home half way through to change clothes! Let’s hope next year will provide sunshine- we are due some don’t you think?
